Robbins & Myers, Inc. a leading supplier of engineered equipment and systems for critical applications in global energy, industrial, chemical and pharmaceutical markets has an immediate need for a highly professional Commercial Contract & Compliance Specialist serving its global sales activities from its Dayton, Ohio location.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to:

  • Review sales contracts as directed by the Vice President of Sales and identify commercial terms and conditions and export compliance issues for sales management and company management.
  • Recommend appropriate revisions to commercial contract terms, provide re-drafted contract provisions to customers as needed, and assist as needed in the negotiation of final contract terms.
  • Ensure that the company is in compliance will all applicable export restrictions and guidelines. Maintain a dialogue with the company’s legal counsel to ensure the company’s policies and procedures for export compliance are up to date.
  • Review agreements or contracts with sales representatives, distributors, sales agents, or other channel partners to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Assist in the negotiation of any new channel partner contracts or agreements.
  • Ensure adequate confidentiality and record keeping for all of the documents referred to above.
  • As directed by the group President, assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating, as appropriate, major agreements or contracts with suppliers, vendors, or other parties.
  • Perform other sales support and contract administration duties as assigned by the Vice President of Sales.

We are searching for candidates who have the following background and capabilities:

  • Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or related field and minimum of five (5) years experience as a legal assistant, contract administrator or related position. Experience with a manufacturing company and experience with international sales is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms, conditions, settlement procedures and documentation commonly found in domestic or international sales agreements.
  • Knowledge and experience in analyzing and negotiating the terms and conditions commonly found in domestic and international sales contracts and agreements.
  • Experience in administering an export compliance program is desirable…the ability to do so is a requirement.
  • Ability to draft and revise legal documents.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills in managing difficult situations by responding promptly to requests.
  • Strong skills in identifying problems, developing alternate solutions and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills. Individual should prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate, direct and maintain highly confidential work and materials.
  • Must have good computer literacy including but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
