Location

The Chemineer offices and factory in Derby, UK serve the European, Middle Eastern, Indian, South East Asian and African markets. Derby is located in the Midlands of England, 120 miles (190 km) North of London, close to the main M1 motorway running from London to the North of the country, and also close to Birmingham and East Midlands Airports.

• All equipment used within the European Community (EC) that is designed for use at >0.5 barg must by law comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC
• Chemineer UK is qualified by RSA to self certify and CE mark PED items up to and including category 3 pipe work and pressure accessories under the Module "H" procedure.
• Machinery Directives
• Chemineer UK has aligned itself fully with this directive and can CE mark and certify Chemineer agitators and Greerco mixers accordingly.
• ATEX
• The ATEX directive covers the design of equipment for operation in atmospheres where there is a possibility of explosions due to dusts or vapours. It requires operators and suppliers to consider the safety of the entire machine - not just the electrical or electronic components. It applies to all equipment newly put into service in any of the countries in the European Community.
• Under this legislation plant operators must categorise all areas of their plants according to the risk of explosions occurring into Zone 0/20, 1/21,2/22 or Safe areas where there is no risk at all.
• The most severe category under ATEX is Zone 0/20. In these zones the plant operator has determined that there is a high risk of explosive vapours or dusts being present for a substantial period of time. Typically this would be in the vapour space at the top of a vessel where there is air/oxygen present and a flammable gas or dust.
• Chemineer has developed a range of agitators that can be safely used in Zone 0/20, as well as the lower risk categories, and which have been certified by an approved independent authority.
• These can therefore be CE marked and certified to comply fully with the ATEX legislation. Consideration has to be given to all components of the agitator including mechanical seals, gearboxes and in-vessel components.
• Chemineer have Ex Zone 0/20 type examination certificates for agitator types DTNEx, (20)GTNEx, (20)HTNEx, andDTLSEx from SIRA Certification Services.
